You’ve Changed Us All
The house that I live in is the place where each and every one of my family members have encouraged me to break the status quo, to do what I please, to be what I please. It’s the place where just one person, the right person, has changed us all. With 2009 coming to a close in a matter of two days, I want to take this time to honor one person. Someone I’ve talked about countless times. My mom. For teaching me so much. For raising me single-handedly. For teaching me that there’s more to life than making sure you have hot water to shower with. She’s been there for me every time I’ve stumbled, tripped, or slipped. She’s been there, with a broom in hand, ready to pick up the pieces I’ve broken down into. She’s pieced me back together. She’s gone to the ends of the earth to make sure that I’d be raised correctly. And let me tell you this, she’s been doing a darn good job at it. She’s put a smile on my face every single day of the year for the past 16 years. So, thank you.
